What Is Considered The Best Gourmet Coffee?

It is very difficult to define what makes the "best" gourmet coffee since much of the enjoyment relies a great deal on personal taste, however there are certain varieties of coffee that are considered being higher in quality and better tasting than others. Many lovers of coffee would agree that some of the best tasting coffee comes from the Jamaican Blue Mountain Region, since it just happens to be one of the most unique places in the world that has the right climate and the perfect growing season for producing some of the finest jamaican coffee that has a smooth and clean taste.

Another well-known region that produces excellent quality coffee beans would be the Kona district of Hawaii. True kona coffee is grown along the mountain slopes of Hualalai or Mauna Loa and should not be confused with other types of Hawaiian coffee regions. Kona is known for being a little spicier than what comes from the Blue Mountain region, but it does not have the hint of bitterness. These are not the only regions that produce excellent coffee beans, however, you can also find gourmet brews from such areas as Kenya, Ethiopia and Indonesia.

If you're ready to start looking for great tasting coffee, you need to be sure to check the labels of the coffee beans you're considering, or even look at descriptions online before you go out. No matter what coffee blend you decide to try, it should always say that the beans are 100% from that region. If you see on the label that the beans are a "blend", it does not mean a blending of different beans from that region, but rather a mix of cheaper beans and a small percentage of the true coffee bean.

Many of the large urban supermarkets will carry a few varieties of coffee from high end regions such as Jamaica or Indonesia, even though you may have to search for a bit to find them. You can also try visiting gourmet food shops or coffee houses, as you would have a better chance of finding the blend you enjoy. If all else fails, you can always rely on the Internet to find what you're looking for and have it delivered right to your doorstep.
